The goal is to rediscover and promote the sky as a unique destination, transforming it into a strategic resource to foster the triple transition of the tourism sectors towards sustainability, digitalization, and resilience. To this end, the focus is placed on strengthening the capabilities and skills of small and medium-sized tourism businesses operating in sky-related ecosystems in three specific regions: Extremadura (Spain), Kuusamo (Finland), and Transylvania (Romania).
Barrabés.biz has taken on this challenge, working to provide SMEs with the necessary tools to embrace innovation, manage data effectively, and encourage knowledge exchange. Through the LookUp initiative, a Sustainable Business Transformation Programme has been designed as a transnational service plan offering intensive support and financial assistance to SMEs during their transformation journey. This programme includes key initiatives such as connecting SMEs with networks and with European certification schemes and tools.
Among the project’s specific actions is the launch of a call for financial support for SMEs in Spain, Finland, and Romania. Additionally, a key component of the project is the creation of a good practice guide titled Go Green, Get Digital, and Be Resilient, which gathers experiences and recommendations from the participating regions.
Throughout the project, courses and training sessions have been provided for tourism sector stakeholders to later train the SMEs involved in the project, ensuring a continuous process. LookUp is a comprehensive initiative that not only transforms the tourism offering by valuing the sky as a resource but also equips SMEs with the competencies needed to face future challenges, ensuring their sustainability and long-term success in an increasingly digital and environmentally conscious European context.
